WoW: Shadowlands 9.1.5 Patch Notes Provide AOE Cap Is Going to be Removed
World of Warcraft : Shadowlands' upcoming 9.1.5 patch is now available on the game's public test world, and the new notes on the patch reveal more changes that are coming to Blizzard's MMO that were not before announced.
The most significant of these changes is the elimination of the game's zone-of-effect (or AOE) cap. The cap was introduced in Shadowlands in Shadowlands, the AOE cap ensures that all abilities capable of hitting multiple enemies can only impact a certain number of targets. That will be going away in 9.1.5 This will see abilities which are currently AOE capped instead doing lower damage to enemies that go beyond the first five targets.

A note from the developer in the complete patch notes explains reason for the change:
"We've received a lot of feedback from players that these abilities aren't hitting enemies within their range creates a feel problem for WoW combat, but can also be cheap WoTLK Classic Gold an issue with trivial encounters like farming legacy content," the patch notes declare.
